Ottoclip Guide / Feature Highlights

Step-by-step guides

Publish numbered screenshot guides for your help center that update each time you regenerate.

Steps

  1. Help center articles, knowledge base pages, and SOPs are usually screenshot guides, and they go stale the moment a button moves. Every content script you generate in Ottoclip also becomes a step-by-step guide. Let's open one. Screenshot
  2. Guide shows the same recording as a numbered guide, for users who would rather read than watch. Screenshot
  3. Each narrated step becomes a numbered step. Your narration is the instruction, and button names you put in quotes show in bold so readers can spot them. Screenshot
  4. Under it is a screenshot of your live product, taken during generation, with a ring around the button to click. Screenshot
  5. Readers click a step to open its screenshot. One stays open at a time, so the guide reads like a short checklist. Screenshot
  6. Or they can open every screenshot at once. Screenshot
  7. Each step number links to that step, so support can send a customer straight to where they're stuck. Screenshot
  8. In Scribe or Tango, a product change means capturing every screenshot again and redoing the notes. In Ottoclip, you update the changed steps and regenerate. Every screenshot is taken again from the live product, and the guide updates along with the video, the demo, and every other format.
  9. To share the guide, copy its link. Screenshot
  10. Or send the link by email. Screenshot
  11. Readers can print the guide or save it as a PDF. Screenshot
  12. Or embed it in your help center once the content is public. After you regenerate, the link and the embed show the new version, with nothing to re-share. Screenshot
  13. To see yours, open any generated content script and choose Guide. Screenshot
